Sun Damage
Cumulative UV damage causing texture change, spots and roughness.

Overview
Photodamage presents as lentigines, rough actinic changes, broken vessels and loss of elasticity. Some changes are precancerous and should be assessed.
Common symptoms
Dark patches
Areas of darker pigment than surrounding skin.
Skin texture change
Roughness, bumpiness or loss of smoothness.
Why it happens
Cumulative ultraviolet exposure, sunbed use, and lack of consistent sun protection.
Self-care that helps
Wear SPF 50 daily, reapply during sun exposure, and cover up between 11am and 3pm.
When to seek advice
Seek urgent advice for a rough, scaly patch that will not heal, or a changing mole or lesion.
